IBC weighing system: Empty your containers completely

Anyone who uses liquid raw materials in production knows the problem: up to 10-15% of the liquids often remain in the intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). This wastes valuable resources and causes unnecessary costs. However, it is possible to empty the IBCs completely. Thanks to the tipping device of the Höfelmeyer IBC scale, every drop flows into your production.

Empty IBCs completely – Request IBC system now

IBC weighing system: weighing, residue emptying and storage space in one

Liquid media in production are stored in IBCs and are filled directly from the containers. Our IBC system is a true all-rounder and integrates perfectly into your production. It weighs the containers, displays fill levels, controls the dosing of media, optimises the complete removal of liquids and provides additional space for the temporary storage of further containers. You simply place the IBCs on the weighing system using lifting scales or forklift trucks.

Accurate weight determination, maximum resource utilization and fast container changes

All the facts at a glance

Complete residual emptying of the IBC

The tilting mechanism of the weighing system enables the IBC to be emptied completely. This allows you to utilise the entire contents of the container - even with highly viscous liquids. This conserves resources and reduces the cost of procuring raw materials.

Easy process integration

The IBC scale can be combined with different weighing terminals and is therefore intuitive and easy to operate. Weights can be transferred directly to your systems via a variety of communication interfaces.

Process optimisation through storage area

An additional storage area for further IBCs is located underneath the structure. This reduces the time needed to change containers, shortens production times and has a positive effect on the efficiency of your production process.

Controlled dispensing

Depending on your requirements, automatically controlled or manual removal of the liquids is possible. Once a certain weight has been reached, the gas struts automatically tilt the IBC to maximise the removal of raw materials.

Increased work safety

Tilting by means of the built-in gas pressure springs reduces the risk of accidents as it makes manual tilting of the containers superfluous.

The added value of the IBC weighing system

When designing the IBC weighing system, we focussed on maximum customer benefit. It allows the entire contents of the containers to be utilised and offers a wide range of applications thanks to the different variants. A special highlight: there are storage areas for additional IBCs underneath the frame. This enables optimum utilisation of space, quick container changes and minimises production downtime.

Further advantages:

Maximum resource utilisation

Never waste resources again. The tipping device enables the liquid raw materials in your IBCs to be emptied completely. This reduces costs and benefits the environment.

Fill levels at a glance

By using the IBC weighing system, the current fill level of the containers is available at all times and enables forward-looking production planning.

Easy removal

Viscous raw materials require more time to be removed from the containers. The inclined position of the IBC optimises the removal of liquids and thus optimises the processes in your production.

Wide range of variants

The different variations of the IBC weigher allow easy integration into your production facility. You can also decide whether the liquids should be removed manually or automatically.

Complete integration

Regardless of whether you use Ethernet, Profibus or Profinet in your company, the IBC scale can be fully integrated into your systems thanks to its wide range of interfaces.

Safe handling

The IBC scale combines resource conservation with work safety and ergonomics. The design of the automatic tilting system eliminates the need for manual operations to empty the IBCs.

Hygienic design

Where food, medicines, cosmetics or chemical substances are processed, good cleanability is essential. That is why we have designed our IBC weighing system primarily in accordance with the requirements of hygienic design.

FAQ

What safety features do IBC scales have to prevent accidents?

The design of the IBC scale ensures that the containers stand securely on the weighing platform. Edges on the weighing platform prevent the tanks from sliding down when the device is tilted. The tilting mechanism enables the IBC to be emptied completely and prevents accidents at the workplace due to improper tilting by personnel.

What factors influence the accuracy of an IBC weighing system?

The IBC weighing system is designed to provide accurate values. Nevertheless, environmental conditions such as vibrations, strong draughts and temperature fluctuations in production affect the accuracy of the scale. Connected hoses, pumps or residues on the weighing platform also have an effect on the measurement result.
